My whole life I have had a love affair with San Francisco and it continues today.  There is nothing like driving into the city and crossing the Golden Gate Bridge.  It is romantic and awesome at the same time.  In the summer the city is usually fogged over in the morning before it burns off.  When the bridge disappears into the fog it l.i.t.e.r.a.l.l.y takes your breath away.  People come from all over the world to experience this bridge, this city.  It is a gift.

It is doubly exciting that this happens to be the home of the best baseball team ever - The San Francisco Giants!!  Today we drove into the city for some Giants baseball - a double header.  Woot!!  No better way to spend a summer afternoon and evening!!   Taylor had one thing that was on his list before going on his mission and that was to hit another Giants game before he left.  Check.

If you ever find yourself at the Golden Gate Bridge - Don't just drive over it.  Stop and walk across it. Be one with the bridge = Love!  Looking up is not to be missed.  You just can't get that in the car.

We had a few hours before the game so we spent a little time...eating:

Boudin is the best!  It IS San Francisco sour dough.  While I was growing up it was just this little shack kind of place on the wharf where you could go see the bread made and get a good sandwich.  Now they have built this huge restaurant - super nice - and a whole museum, along with a huge bakery where you can watch the bread being made into regular loaves and rounds, etc...but also shaped into fun things like crabs and bears and turtles (that is what is going on in the top right picture - there is a big window where those walking along the sidewalk can stop and watch)..  It.Smells.Soooooo.Good.  SO GOOD! Our lunch was heavenly.  Our view was of Alcatraz.

Driving in San Francisco is a BLAST!  A city built on BIG hills. So much fun.  Up and down, up and down.  And do I dare talk about the tunnel?  There are tunnels that go through some of the hills in parts of the city and let's just say that my husband decided to go through one at about 100mph on this day.  YES I screamed.  The only reason he didn't get in trouble was because it was his birthday.  (I secretly loved it. wink).

We got Kurke up on the scoreboard!

So this was pretty cool.  It is AT&T stadium soooooo...they have charging stations like this all over the place. We were there for a double header,
a long time.  When our phones were out of battery we just had to go plug them in.  There were plugs there for every type of phone.

Kurke was extremely excited to get this sandwich for dinner because he has had them at the games before.  Lots and lots of GREAT food in the park (not your typical hot dogs and popcorn, although they had that too).  So we got these Crab sandwiches and I must say they were Oh So Delicious - Yum!!  All the crab and cheese on this grilled sourdough roll.  Oh yes very very good!
